APPLE JACK

by Sam Glanzman

Welcome to Comic book stories.

Much like movies, that have a multitude of tales and settings, i.e. war, western, romance, sci-fi, historical, and comedy, we feel comic books can be used to explore many types of stories in ways that are unique to this medium.

By using the Internet to publish, we are taking this medium beyond the walls of the comicbook shops, and presenting it directly to the reading public.

We feel this has the promise to reach a much wider audience, and a much more diverse audience.

Comic books were created to sell ink on paper. In the process, they became much more than that, they created our modern myths.

Superman, Batman, Spiderman, the Hulk and the X-Men. Who in our culture, or the world for that matter, has not heard of these characters?

They touch us at the core of our fears, our aspirations, our dreams, and nightmares.

These icons were created in the crucible of public opinion when comic books were a mainstream medium.

Along with these larger-than-life heroes, comic books gave us the ability to examine our prejudice, our ethics, and our beliefs in the small, morality plays such as Boys Ranch, Sgt. Rock, and True Romance.

In the right hand column, you will see the links to our first five books. Click on the book you want to read and through the magic of cyber space you'll be whisked into our minstrel show of the 21st century. They're playing now!

Enjoy!
